MiniMem - the smallest lab membrane filtration unit - Batchsize 20-2000ml

MiniMem system
3 sizes of MiniMem modules
CoolMem peltier membrane thermostat
CoolMem: mini heating - cooling system

Working principle:
Heart of the unit is a membrane module with special magnetic stirrer. All flat sheet membranes for ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis can be used, not only for aqueous systems but also for organic solvents (OSN). Minimal operating volume is 10-30ml ! This means the principle of cross flow filtration can be used for applications with very expensive substances - e.g. pharmaceuticals in early development stages - . Or simply for any application without waste of big amounts of test material. The ratio of membrane area to minimal working volume is high. This allows high concentration factors and efficient diafiltration. Two membrane modules can be stacked to compare two membranes in the same experiment. We also can supply now a bigger 120cm2 membrane module: At a typical flux of 30l/m2h this means e.g. concentrating 1000ml to 50ml in less than 3h followed by a diafiltration of factor 6 in one hour.

Complete system with stainless steel housing, integrated high pressure pump, electronic display and recording of all mesurement data, membrane module with heating/cooling plate, more modules can be added to test several membranes at the same time

    Applications:
  • reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration
  • concentrating, diafiltration, recycle-mode, batch and continuous
  • application of cross-flow filtration even at smallest volumes
  • concentrating, washing, cleaning and separation of molecules
  • organic solvent nanofiltration, e.g. in combination with chromatography
    Technical data:
